Welcome!

I'm Perrine (pair-reen) aka “Professor P.” I’m a Creative Fashion Marketer, Educator, Event Curator & so much more.

Perrine DeShield is a first-generation Liberian-American who is always fascinated with the world around her and constantly pulls inspiration from her heritage. She specializes in public speaking, digital marketing, influencer marketing, virtual events, content strategy and brand development.

As an avid podcaster and broadcast journalist, Perrine has created two shows, 1stGens and The Quarantine Couch, and has taught podcasting workshops. She also started her own creative agency, Eclecs, in 2016.

In addition to working with Lowe’s Home Improvement and Belk headquarters over the years, community is a top priority for Perrine. She served as Chair of Belk's Black Resource and Inclusive Group of High-Caliber Talent (B.R.I.G.H.T.) was on the Young Professionals Board for the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance, is on the planning committee for the first Charlotte Podcast Festival, and is part of a collective of Black Charlotte creatives celebrating art and culture through BlkMrkt CLT.

Perrine and Belk's B.R.I.G.H.T. organization received the 2021 Above & Beyond Award for business impact from Seramount for the Belk Culture Shop. Perrine was honored as one of Charlotte Pride Magazine’s Best of the Best 2019, was nominated as a Best of Belk finalist in 2019, and named one of the Top 30 Under 30 Future Leaders of Charlotte by Elevate Lifestyle magazine in 2018.

Perrine is currently embarking on her greatest adventure yet as “Professor P" at SCAD, where she teaches fashion marketing and management in Savannah as well as abroad in Lacoste, France. As a SCAD alumnus, she’s having a ball ushering in the newest era of creative fashion marketing talent.

In May 2025, Professor P executed a sold-out Met Gala-inspired event, Superfine CLT at the Harvey B. Gantt Center. She continues to stay actively involved in her community by curating unique fashion-forward experiential events.

In September 2025, she received an honor from SouthPark Magazine and was included in the publication’s “It List” of Charlotte’s most stylish.

She creates event style guides for Charlotte events and beyond.
